Noise Mapping Guide

Using the beacon mapping technology, you can see where noise hotspots are on your sites. By identifying these, you are better positioned to reduce or eliminate sources of excessive noise or to adapt workers behaviours in these areas.

In order to create a noise map, you will need to make sure that you have a site created. If this is a new site, please follow the steps in creating sites. Once you have a site created, you can continue with the following steps

For guidance on installing beacons please see our Beacon Installation Guide

To get started - log in to your Peak account and follow the steps bel

Navigate to the "Noise maps" tab on the left side of the dashboard, highlighted with a red border

If you manage multiple sites, make sure you are adding the map to the correct site - shown below

(If not correct, click on the highlighted box, select all text and then delete, once the text field is empty it will show you all of the sites that are available to add noise maps to, if you do not see the applicable site, navigate to Create Site help page to set one up)

Once in the Noise maps tab, select the "MANAGE NOISE MAP" button on the top right hand side of screen

Select the "ADD NOISE MAP" button on top right hand side

After selecting "ADD NOISE MAP", a dialogue box will appear. Please name your map and upload an image (.jpeg, .png) of the area where you have placed your beacons.

Once you have named the map and added the image press the "Add" button

You will now see the map you have uploaded

Select the "MANAGE BEACONS" button in the top left side of the screen

If you're unable to see the beacon ID number you are using please contact support at support@eave.io

Using the "+" button after the beacon ID, add a beacon to the map

Ensure you add the correct beacon to your map, paying attention to the serial number of each of the beacons you have placed around your site

The beacon will populate in the top left hand corner of the map and show a cross with the beacon ID below, drag and drop the beacon to where you have placed it on your site

Repeat above step for all beacons you have placed around the area you wish to map

Once you have added all of the beacons you have used, select the "Save" button

Failure to hit the save button will undo beacon locations and any progress will be lost

When you are happy that you have correctly placed your beacons and saved them, press the "STOP EDITING" button

Your beacon map is now ready.
